Why I Chose Switzerland as My Future Base

A quiet reflection on identity, craft, and the kind of life I want to build.

People often ask me, “Why Switzerland?”
Whenever I talk about my future, the question appears with genuine curiosity.
For me, the answer feels both natural and clear:
Switzerland is where my values, my work, and the way I wish to live come together most harmoniously.

I had been drawn to Switzerland for several years.
But over the past year—living and working in different countries—I finally began to ask myself where I truly belong.
And when I faced that question honestly, the place that rose naturally in my mind was Switzerland.

What I seek is a calm and thoughtful way of living—
a place where noise is minimal and the inner world becomes audible.
As I reflected on what kind of environment nurtures my creativity,
I realized that Switzerland holds many of the qualities I value most:

  • a society defined by quietness and respect

  • a culture that honours individuality

  • a minimal, high-quality lifestyle

  • a rhythm of life that stays close to nature

In such an environment, my sensitivity and sense of beauty feel amplified.
It feels like a place where I can work with presence rather than pressure.

Growing up in Gunma, surrounded by craftsmanship and nature,
quietly shaped the foundation of who I am.

Later, living in different countries made me deeply aware of the values I hold close:

  • slowness over speed

  • depth over noise

  • craftsmanship over mass production

  • comfort that respects sensitive skin

These values naturally echo the direction of Bravella,
a brand built on silk, heritage, and modern comfort.

In Switzerland—especially in St. Gallen’s textile culture
I find a spirit of quality and precision that inspires me.
More importantly, Switzerland’s openness to innovation makes it an ideal place
to explore and develop the materials I hope to create in the future.

For me, Switzerland is not simply a place to relocate.
It is a place where I can deepen my values and refine the way I want to build my work.

As I move forward, I want to stay close to the principles that matter to me:

  • thinking in the long term

  • focusing on skill rather than shortcuts

  • building trust with care

  • strengthening the foundation quietly, step by step

These are qualities I continue to learn from Switzerland’s culture and craftsmanship,
and they resonate deeply with the kind of entrepreneur—and person—I hope to become.

And as a woman building a global brand, Switzerland offers something rare:

  • intellectual depth

  • respect for women’s leadership

  • multicultural connections

  • a community that values meaningful work

  • an education environment I would want for my son

It is one of the few places where quietness, intellect, and internationalism coexist so naturally.

Switzerland is where my values feel most at home.
In choosing it, I feel as though I’m quietly returning to the most authentic version of myself.
